Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices pineapple
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced red onion
- Sliced tomato
- Mayonnaise
- Teriyaki sauce
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to make the teriyaki marinade
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties
Place the burger patties in a shallow dish and pour the teriyaki marinade over them
Marinate for at least 30 minutes
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat
Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness
During the last minute of grilling, add a slice of Swiss cheese to each patty and allow it to melt
While the patties are grilling, grill the pineapple slices until they have grill marks, about 2 minutes per side
Toast the burger buns on the grill until they are lightly browned
Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom bun, placing a lettuce leaf, a burger patty with melted cheese, a grilled pineapple slice, sliced red onion, and tomato slice on top
Drizzle teriyaki sauce over the burger components, and top with the other half of the bun
Serve the Steam Whistle Teriyaki Burgers immediately
